Often referred to as the "Central Park" of Seattle, Green Lake is one of the most highly desirable neighborhoods in Seattle, with commute times to downtown Seattle of only ten to fifteen minutes.

Green Lake is a recreation Mecca for local residents and Seattleites alike. A man-made lake boasting a 2.8-mile trail around the lake used for biking, running, and inline skating. On the lake itself you may swim, canoe, kayak, and windsurf. There is also an indoor swimming pool, as well as tennis courts, and facilities for golf, soccer, baseball, and basketball. An estimated one million people a year use the park.

Other neighborhood amenities include the Evans Pool, Bathhouse Theater, Green Lake Community Center, and a Pitch and Putt Golf Course. Adjacent to the lake is the Woodland Park Zoo, consistently ranked as one of the best 10 zoos in the nation.

Bounded by the Wallingford neighborhood on the South, Greenwood/Phinney Ridge to the West, Licton Springs/Maple Leaf to the North, and Roosevelt to the East, the Green Lake park/lake has no real entrance as you can enter anywhere around the park. Homes in the area are predominantly single-family residences, including some Tudors and bungalows, many which maintain their original details and charm.

The business district is located on the east side of the park. Stores range from retail and sporting shops to small restaurants and specialty stores and attracts many young families and weekend visitors. There are also businesses in the Aurora area, in the Meridian area, and near the wading pool.

Green Lake's diversity reflects that fact that the park is the most popular park in the State of Washington. People from all parts of the City and County come to enjoy the lake, the path, and the other activities at the. Green Lake is a great place to work, play, visit and live.
